Usage:
All Caterpillar Machines with a 9G-8011 Pressure Switch Assembly
Reference: Special Instruction, SEHS9615, Servicing DT Connectors.
A new 112-7951 Pressure Switch Assembly has been released to replace the 9G-8011 Pressure Switch Assembly in fuel applications. The new 112-7951 Pressure Switch Assembly has a built-in snubber to dampen the fuel pressure pulses normally found in the fuel system. The 9G-8011 Pressure Switch Assembly is still serviced for use in low pressure oil applications. The 9G-8011 Pressure Switch Assembly should not be used in fuel applications.
To replace a 9G-8011 Pressure Switch Assembly with a new 112-7951 Pressure Switch Assembly, a two-pin DT connector will have to be added to the machine wiring harness assembly. For each pressure switch assembly that is changed, a 102-8807 Connector Plug Kit and two 8T-8730 Connector Sockets will have to be installed. The individual connector parts are also available in the 9U-7246 Connector Service Kit. 1U-5804 Crimp Tool is required to crimp the terminals on the harness wires. The reference material has detailed instructions for servicing DT connectors.
When the installation of the DT connector on the machine harness is complete, secure the mated DT connectors to the machine with a 3S-2093 Strap (tie-wrap). Tighten the strap by hand or use a 4C-5877 Cable Tie Tool which tightens and cuts off the excess strap at the same time.
