New Stronger Drawbar Reduces Deformation In Severe Loading Situations{7105,7119}

Usage:

Challenger 65 (7YC),
Challenger 65B (7YC),
Challenger 65C (2ZJ),
Challenger 65D (2ZJ),
Challenger 70C (2YL),
Challenger 75 (4CJ),
Challenger 75C (4KK),
Challenger 85C (9TK) Agricultural Tractors

Description of Change: An improved drawbar assembly is used for Challenger Agricultural Tractors. The improved drawbar assembly has components made of stronger material. The increased drawbar strength will reduce drawbar deformation in severe loading situations, and improve pin and pin hole wear.

Adaptable To: The stronger drawbar is effective with Challenger 65D (2ZJ1965), Challenger 75C (4KK2230), and Challenger 85C (9TK1765) Agricultural Tractors. The new drawbar assembly is adaptable to all earlier tractors. In some cases, as outlined later, modifications are required. In all cases, when replacing either the top plate assembly or the lower drawbar assembly, replace the 9U-3817 Wear Plate.

Challenger 65 (7YC), Challenger 65B (7YC), and Challenger 75 (4CJ) Agricultural Tractors

The 3W-6112 Drawbar Assembly (single piece top and bottom) is replaced by 125-6370 Drawbar Assembly, 119-6204 Plate, and all related mounting hardware contained in 9U-1695 Drawbar Group-Swinging (except for the hardware and pin used to anchor the drawbar to the rear case). Partial field installation is not possible. A 3W-7254 Spacer can also be added to eliminate possible interference and the drawbar striking the bottom of the case which can occur with high vertical load implements.

Challenger 65C (2ZJ1-499), Challenger 75C (4KK1-499) Agricultural Tractors

The 9U-3818 Plate and 9U-3813 Drawbar Assembly use a 38.1 mm (1.50 in) drawbar pin. The new 119-6204 Plate and 125-6370 Drawbar Assembly use a 50.8 mm (2 in) drawbar pin. Therefore, both the plate and drawbar must be replaced. A larger 106-3677 Pin [50.8 mm (2 in)] must also be used. A 3W-7254 Spacer can be added to eliminate possible case interference and striking of the drawbar against the bottom of the case with high vertical load implements.

Challenger 65C (2ZJ500-1964), Challenger 70C (2YL), Challenger 75C (4KK500-2229), Challenger 85C (9TK1764) Agricultural Tractors

The 107-0417 Plate and 103-9039 Drawbar Assembly are replaced by the 119-6204 Plate (Upper Drawbar) and 125-6370 Drawbar Assembly (lower). Mounting bolts, washers, spacer, wearplate, and dowel remain unchanged. The upper and lower drawbar sections may be replaced individually or as a set.
