Use 2P-4005 Oil Filter Instead Of 1R-0716 Oil Filter{1318}
Usage:
Caterpillar Machines Powered By 3508, 3512, And 3516 Engines Equipped With Spin-On Oil Filters
Reference: Service Magazine; February 28, 1994; Page 19; "Improved 1R-0716 Oil Filter Should Be Use On 3500 Engines".
Oil may leak from between the 1R-0716 Oil Filter and the filter base during normal operation of the 3500 Engine. The use of this filter element should be discontinued on these engines immediately.
Use the 2P-4005 Oil Filter in place of the 1R-0716 Oil Filter on the 3500 Engines used to power Caterpillar Machines.
