New Seal Used In Air Lines Group {1058}
Usage:
Caterpillar Machines Powered By 3408 And 3412 Engines
Description of Change: A new seal is used at the slip joint between the upper and lower exhaust tubes of the air lines group. See the illustration. The inside diameter of the new seal is smaller to provide improved sealing at the outside diameter of the lower tube. The seal material did not change.
Location of new 106-9408 Seal in typical air lines group.
Adaptable To: The new 106-9408 Seal is a direct replacement for the former 8N-0886 Seal in all air lines groups using a slip joint on 3408 and 3412 engines with a single turbocharger or with twin turbochargers which do not have the new bellows style air tubes. The 8N-0886 Seal is canceled.
