Brake Oil Filter

Usage:

Remove & Install Brake Oil Filter


Typical Example

1. Remove the plug from the bottom of housing assembly (4), and drain the oil from the brake oil filter. After the oil has drained, install the plug in the housing assembly.

2. Remove housing assembly (4) from filter base (1).

3. Disconnect hose assembly (5) and tube assembly (3) from filter base (1).

4. Remove three bolts (2) and filter base (1).

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the brake oil filter.

5. Put filter base (1) in position, and install three bolts (2).

6. Connect tube assembly (3) and hose assembly (5) to oil filter base (1).

7. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position, and install housing assembly (4). Install the housing assembly until it is against the seat in the oil filter base.

Disassemble & Assemble Brake Oil Filter

Start By:

a. remove brake oil filter

NOTE: Housing (2) is removed from base (1) during brake oil filter removal.

1. Remove element (3) from housing (2).

------ WARNING! ------

Snap ring (4) holds a spring under compression. To prevent possible injury, hold retainer (5) and the spring when the snap ring is removed.

--------WARNING!------

2. Remove snap ring (4) with tool (A). Remove retainer (5) and spring (6) from housing (2).

3. Remove plug (7) from housing (2). Remove the O-ring from plug (7).

4. Remove O-ring seal (8) from base (1).

5. Remove plug (9), spool (10), and spring (11) from base (1). Remove the O-ring from plug (9).

6. Remove plug (12) from base (1). Remove the O-ring from plug (12).

NOTE: The following steps are for assembly of the brake oil filter.

7. Install the O-ring on plug (12). Install plug (12) in base (1).

8. Install the O-ring on plug (9). Install spring (11), spool (10), and plug (9) in base (1).

9. Install O-ring seal (8) in base (1).

10. Install the O-ring on plug (7). Install plug (7) in housing (2).

11. Install spring (6) and retainer (5) in housing (2). Hold down retainer (5) and install snap ring (4) in housing (2) with tool (A).

12. Install element (3) in housing (2).

NOTE: Housing (2) will be installed in base (1) during brake oil filter installation.
