Usage:
START BY:
a. tilt cab (24° position) *
*This operation is in the Vehicle Systems Disassembly And Assembly section.
1. Lift the loader arms, and install tool (A) on a lift cylinder to hold the loader arms up. Tilt the bucket forward so it can not fall.
2. Lower the guard below the transmission.
3. Open the door on the lower front of the machine. Open fuel drain valve (1), and drain the fuel tank into an acceptable tank.
NOTE: When the fuel tank is being removed to make other repairs, it is only necessary to drain the tank until the fuel level is at the 80% mark on the fuel indicator gauge.
4. Disconnect fuel return line (2) and fuel supply line (3) from the back of the fuel tank.
5. Remove cover (4).
6. Remove guards (5) and (6).
7. Remove clips (7) and horn (8) from the fuel tank. Move the horn and wire harness clear of the tank.
8. Remove clip (9) from the back of the fuel tank.
9. Remove bolt (10) from the top mount on the fuel tank.
10. Install a 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolt (11) in the fuel tank, and fasten a hoist.
11. Remove the bolts from the lower mount on the fuel tank, and remove the fuel tank from the machine. Weight of an empty tank is approximately 59 kg (130 lb.). Weight of the tank with 80% fuel is approximately 170 kg (375 lb.) for the 943 and 206 kg (455 lb.) for the 953.
Install Fuel Tank
1. Install a 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolt (1) in the fuel tank, and fasten a hoist. Put fuel tank (2) in position on the machine. Weight of an empty fuel tank is approximately 59 kg (130 lb.).
2. Install bolts (3) that hold the fuel tank to the lower mount.
3. Install bolt (4) and the washers and nut in the top mount on the fuel tank.
4. Install clip (5) that holds the oil supply line for the hand pump to the fuel tank.
5. Connect fuel return line (6) and fuel supply line (7) to the fuel tank.
6. Install horn (9) on the fuel tank.
7. Install clips (8) that hold the wire harness for the horn to the fuel tank.
8. Install lower guard (10).
9. Install guard (11).
10. Install cover (12).
11. Lift the guard below the transmission, and install the bolts that hold it in place.
12. Lift the loader arms, and remove tool (A) from the lift cylinder.
