Control Panel

The control panel is mounted in the generator terminal box on Building Services Standby units.

The control panel has a sixteen character model number located on the nameplate. The nameplate is inside the panel. The model number of the control panel is based on panel options and generator ratings. The model number is defined further by the following charts.

1. The first character of the model number is a "B". This indicates a conventional electro-mechanical control panel. This also indicates the panel is mounted in the side of a standby package generator set. It further indicates the system is equipped with an auto start-stop control.
2. The second character of the model number indicates the engine type used.

3. The third character of the model number specifies the generator frame size.

4. The fourth character of the model number specifies the generator operating voltage. It also tells the part number for the required AC voltmeter.

5. The fifth character of the model number specifies the optional AC ammeter, frequency meter, resistor and ammeter-voltmeter phase selector switch (if required)

6. The sixth character of the model number specifies the voltage regulator options and voltage adjustment potentiometer.

7. The seventh character of the model number specifies the DC voltmeter (if provided).

8. The eighth character of the model number specifies panel mounted governor controls (if provided).

9. The ninth character of the model number specifies the emergency stop pushbutton option (if required).

10. The tenth character of the model number specifies the panel illumination light option (if required).

11. The eleventh character of the model number specifies the type of engine fuel control solenoid.

12. The twelfth character of the model number specifies the generators rated speed. It also specifies the associated crank termination and overspeed speed switch settings.

13. The thirteenth character of the model number specifies the number of teeth on the flywheel.

14. The fourteenth character of the model number is for future use.
15. The fifteenth character of the model number specifies the name of the control panel assembler.

16. The sixteenth character of the model number specifies the chart change level to which the control panel was built.
