Introduction
This instruction shows how to connect the electrical wiring between the 2301 Woodward Governor and the EG-3P Actuator to insure correct polarity. If the wiring is connected incorrectly, no damage will occur, but the engine will not start.
1. Use two wire splices from the 1P2305 Electrical Terminal Assortment to make a spliced connection (1) to the pigtail connection (2) from the EG-3P Actuator (3). Make certain, that the red wire from the 2301 Governor is connected to the red wire of the pigtail on the EG-3P Actuator.
2. If these splices are used, put a 5P6009 Heat Shrinkable Tube (4) over the splicing location and shrink it onto the splice.
3. Secure the spliced connection to the actuator (3) with a plastic strap (5). Place the plastic strap above the spliced connection.
4. If desired, connectors from the 6V3000 Shure Seal Electrical Connector Kit can be used on the acutator assembly, and engine wiring. For instructions on the use of this kit, see Special Instruction Form SMHS7531.
When a load sharing parallel control box is used on the 2301 Woodward Governor the red wire must be connected to #17 contact (1).
If a non-parallel control box is used, the red wire must be connected to #6 contact (2).
