Flywheel Housing

Usage:

Remove Flywheel Housing (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Industrial Engines)

start by:

a) remove starter

b) remove crankshaft rear seal

1. Remove bolts that hold the oil pan to the flywheel.

2. Loosen remainder of oil pan bolts.

3. Install a spacer between oil pan and surface of the cylinder block.

4. Remove timing pointer cover.

5. Remove turbocharger oil drain line (1).

6. Install slings through timing hole and starter opening in housing.

7. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel housing and remove bolts (2). Remove flywheel housing. Weight of housing is 110 lb. (50 kg).

Install Flywheel Housing (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Industrial Engines)

1. Install a new gasket on the flywheel housing and the bolts that hold it. Cut gasket so it is even with the cylinder block.

2. Install turbocharger oil drain line to turbocharger.

3. Remove spacers from between oil pan and cylinder block.

4. Install the bolts that hold the oil pan to the flywheel housing.

5. Tighten oil pan bolts.

6. Install the timing pointer cover.

end by:

a) install crankshaft rear seal

b) install starter

Remove Flywheel Housing (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Marine Engines)

start by:

a) remove crankshaft rear seal

1. Lift the flywheel end of the engine.

2. Remove seven bolts that hold oil pan plate to the flywheel housing.

3. Loosen the remainder of the oil pan and oil pan plate bolts.

4. Install spacers (1) between the oil pan plate and the surface of the cylinder block.

5. Remove the flywheel housing bolts (2) and remove the flywheel housing (3). Weight of the flywheel housing is 35 lb. (15.9 kg).

Install Flywheel Housing (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Marine Engines)

1. Put the flywheel housing in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold it.

2. Remove the spacers from between the cylinder block and the oil pan plate.

3. Install the bolts that hold the oil pan plate to the flywheel housing.

4. Tighten the remainder of the oil pan and oil pan plate bolts.

5. Lower the flywheel end of the engine.

end by:

a) install crankshaft rear seal
