Usage:
Remove And Install Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
2. Remove the bolt (1) from the clamp that holds fuel line to accessory drive housing.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines (2) from the pump. Remove the two bolts (3) that hold pump to accessory housing. Remove fuel transfer pump (4).
4. Inspect and make a replacement of O-ring seal (5) if necessary.
5. Install new gasket (6) on the accessory drive housing.
6. Put the fuel transfer pump (4) on the engine. Install the two bolts that hold pump to housing. Connect fuel lines (2) to the pump. Install bolt (1) that holds clamp to housing. Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
Disassemble Fuel Transfer Pump
start by:
a) remove fuel transfer pump
1. Remove six bolts (1) from the pump assembly.

Do not cause damage to machined surface of the cover or body. |
2. Remove the cover (2) from body (3).
3. Remove retainer ring (4) from shaft (7). Remove shaft (7), idler gear (6) and cage (5) from the body. Remove two O-ring seals (8) from the cage.
4. Remove two lip type seals from the inside of cage (5).
5. Remove the bearing from the cage with tooling (A).
6. Remove the bearing from body (3) with tooling (A).
Assemble Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Install the bearing in body (1) with tooling (A) until the bearing is even with the inside surface of the body.
2. Install the bearing in cage (2) with tooling (A) until the bearing is even with the outside surface of the cage. Install two lip type seals in the cage with tooling (B). See the illustration of the pump on Page 7-4 for correct seal installation. Install the smaller outside diameter lip type seal until it is 1.45 in. (36.83 mm) from the installation end of the cage. Install the other lip type seal until it is .69 in. (17.53 mm) from the installation end of the cage.
3. Install two O-ring seals (3) on the cage. Put a thin layer of SAE 30 oil on the O-ring seal and the seal lips. Install the cage in body (1) as shown.
4. Install idler gear (4) and shaft (5) in the body. Install retainer ring (6) on the shaft.

Do not let Liquid Gasket material get in the pump. |
5. Put a small amount of 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the machined surface of the body. Install cover (7) with six bolts.
NOTE: The shaft must turn freely after the cover bolts are tightened.
