Magnetic Strainer And Oil Filter

Usage:

Remove Magnetic Strainer And Oil Filter

1. Remove four nuts and four lockwashers (1) from cover (2) and studs (4).

2. Remove the cover (2). Remove and inspect the O-ring seal (3) for damage. Make a replacement of the seal (3) if it is broken or damaged.

3. Remove the washer (5).

4. Remove the screen (6) and three magnets (7), which are a part of the tube assembly (8).

5. Remove plug (12) to drain oil out of the oil filter (11).

6. Remove six bolts (9) from the cover assembly (10).

7. Remove the element assembly (14) and the cover assembly (10) as a unit.

8. Remove and inspect the O-ring seals (13) for damage. Make a replacement of the seals (13) if they are broken or damaged.

9. Remove the element retaining nut (15) from stud (16) and remove the element assembly (14).

Install Magnetic Strainer And Oil Filter

1. Install the screen (1) and three magnets (2), which are a part of the tube assembly (3).

2. Install the washer (4).

3. Install an O-ring seal in cover (5).

4. Install cover (5) with four nuts and lockwashers (6).

5. Make a replacement of the element assembly if necessary, and install element retaining nut (7) on stud (8) and tighten to a torque of 10 ± 2 lb. ft. (14 ± 3 N·m).

6. Install the plug (11) and tighten to a torque of 35 ± 5 lb. ft. (45 ± 7 N·m).

7. Install the element assembly and the cover assembly (10) as a unit.

8. Install six bolts (9) that hold cover assembly (10).
