Front Cover

Usage:

Remove Front Cover

start by:

a) remove vibration damper and pulley

1. Remove oil from engine and remove covers (1) from each side of oil pan.

2. Remove the bolts that hold oil pan to front cover. Loosen the remainder of oil pan bolts (2) and let oil pan hang down from cylinder block.

3. Remove the bolts (3) that hold front cover (4) to cylinder block.

4. Install two 1/2"-13NC forged eyebolts in cover. Fasten a hoist to cover and remove it from engine. Weight of front cover is 100 lb. (45 kg).

Install Front Cover

1. Turn oil seal ring (1) until opening in ring is toward top of engine.

2. Install front cover (2) and bolts. Cut off bottom ends of front cover gasket even with lower surface of cylinder block.

3. Install and tighten all oil pan bolts.

NOTE: If oil pan gasket was destroyed during disassembly it must be replaced with a new one.

4. Install covers on each side of oil pan. Fill engine with oil.
