start by:

a) remove oil filter base

1. Remove two bolts that hold cover (1). Remove the cover for the oil filter base bypass valve.

Show/hide table

The cover is under spring tension.

2. Remove the spring (2) and valve (3) from the oil filter base.

Assemble Oil Filter Base

1. Put valve and spring assembly (1) into position in the oil filter base.

2. Install the cover and the bolts that hold the cover to the oil filter base.
