Introduction
This Guideline enables dealers and their customers to benefit from cost reductions made possible through an efficiently designed specialization shop. Every effort has been made to provide the most current and relevant information known to Caterpillar Inc. Since the company makes ongoing changes and improvements to its products, this Guideline must be used with the latest technical information available from Caterpillar to ensure such changes and improvements are incorporated where applicable.
For questions or additional information concerning this Guideline, contact Caterpillar Dealer Support Division, Service Support (309) 675-8263.
Summary
The following pages contain visual examples of dealer manufactured products used to improve efficiency of specialization shops. These carts are currently being used by dealers to clean and inspect camshafts and crankshafts.
Caterpillar does not recommend any one design, but each design should be compatible with the methods and cleaning equipment available at the dealership.
When designing any cart, remember to consider damage to the parts as one of the most important factors. Carts that allow parts to come into contact with each other may cause significant part damage.
Note: Inspect carts, lifting devices and all other related equipment for damage and repair per manufacturer?s recommendations before use.
