PROBLEM
The fan drive needs to be inspected on certain C-15 industrial engines. Bolts may be torqued improperly causing sheared off bolts at the fan adapter.AFFECTED PRODUCT

- Remove and visually inspect each bolt one at a time.
- If the bolt looks good replace it with a new bolt.
- If the threads look damaged replace the 7N8827 Hub, 6N6598 Adapter, and all (6) 0L2070 Bolts.

Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
New bolts and in some cases a Drive Gp needs to be installed on the products listed below. Bolts may be sheared off at the fan adapter due to improper torquing that could result in unconfined debris with the potential for severe injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated September 25, 2003 when scheduling this service.
