- (1-Rework Procedure)
Rework Procedure
1. Shutoff or disconnect the A.C. power to the jacket water heater.
2. Close the inlet and outlet shutoff valves to the jacket water heater.
3. Remove the (4) existing 5D1026 Hose Clamps, (2) from each hose.
4. Measure the length of each of the existing 5P1695 (black) Hoses.
5. Remove the (2) 5P1695 Hoses.
NOTE: Be prepared to catch the small amount of coolant trapped in the hoses as they are removed.
6. Remove the (4) existing 19.1 mm ( inch) hose to - 14 NPTH thread connectors, one at each shutoff valve, and (2) on the jacket water heater.
NOTE: On some jacket water heaters units the 19.1 mm ( inch) hose connector is part of the heater unit and cannot be removed.(2) 135-9944 connectors may be excess.
7. Install the (4), or (2) new 1359944 Connectors using a small amount of 5P3413 Pipe Sealant on the - 14 NPTH threads.
8. Cut the 165 cm 1356421 Heater Hose (blue) to the lengths measured in Step 4.
9. Install the (2) 1356421 Heater Hoses using (2) 9X2488 Hose Clamps on each hose. The hoses should be installed with a slope upward from the heater unit. Any loop or high point in the hose could result in a pocket that will stop all coolant circulation.
10. Open the inlet and outlet shutoff valves, and check for leaks.
11. Start and run the engine to a temperature that will allow the engine thermostat to open and circulate coolant through the jacket water heater.
