Remove All 4P3384 Spools From Parts Stock Caterpillar

Termination Date

Problem

The 4P3384 Spool was heat treated incorrectly causing the spool to become brittle. The spools with date codes prior to 03/01/96 should be removed from Parts Stock. The date code can be located on the parts box.

Action Required

Remove all 4P3384 Spools from Parts Stock with date codes prior to 03/01/96. The date code can be located on the parts box.

NOTE: TEPS/MEPS dealers are reimbursed for recalled Parts Stock by returning the affected Parts Stock to their administering Caterpillar dealer for replacement.

Service Claim Allowances

Submit one claim for all 4P3384 Spools removed from Parts Stock.

NOTE: US and Canadian Dealers Only - When submitting a Parts Stock claim use 99Z00007 in the Product Identification Number Field.

Parts Disposition

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
