Product Support Program For The Clutch Control Rod End On Certain D5E Tractors Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0873" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The 4M0494 Rod End used in the flywheel clutch control group may fail on certain D5E Tractors.

Action Required

NOTE: Refer to the parts manual for location of the part.

1. Remove the failed rod end from the machine in accordance with the procedures in the Service Manual.

2. Install a new 4M0494 Rod End and complete assembling the machine.
