Baffle Added To Water Pump Cover To Send Coolant In Bypass Line Directly Into The Water Pump
Usage:
3406 Engines In Most Applications
Description of Change: A baffle on the cover of the water pump now sends water from the bypass line directly into the water pump. This gives improved heater performance at low idle and/or light load conditions. Formerly, the bypass coolant flow mixed with the coolant from the radiator bottom tank.
Adaptable To: All 3406 Engines except those industrial and marine engine arrangements using the 4N1129 or 4N5467 Expansion Tank Groups.
NOTE: For maximum cooling system performance use a 9N2894 Water Temperature Regulator with the new cover. This regulator has a closer fit at the valve seat to keep coolant leakage past the seat at a minimum.
