The air quality requirements for the turbocharger air impringement system of the above 3600 Engines are specifically defined. These air quality requirements, that are specified below, apply to the 4P-5803, 101-9983, and 105-4198 Basic Turbocharger Groups.

If the quality of the air introduced through the turbocharger air impingement system does not meet the following requirements, the internal air sealing channel may become blocked and cause turbocharger bearing damage. In addition, compressor wheel damage may occur.

* Maximum of 0.1 micron for solid particle size.
* Maximum of 0.01 parts per million (ppm) for oil.
* Maximum of 50 percent for relative humidity (the ratio of the water content in air and the water content of saturated air).
* Maximum of 700 kPa (102 psi) for absolute pressure, or 600 kPa (87 psi) gauge, at inlet to compressor.
* No water droplets present.
