Check Plastic Water Sleeve If Engine Experiences Severe Overheating
Usage:
3208 Engines
Reference: Engine News, June 1987, Page 5, "New Plastic Water Sleeve Used."
Be sure to check the plastic water sleeves (see the reference article) if a 3208 Engine experiences severe overheating. The 4W3122 Sleeve is made from a plastic material that is stable to 150°C (300°F). The sleeve can be distorted or melt if it exceeds this temperature. In the event a distorted or melted 4W3122 Sleeve is found, routinely examine the engine for overheating and replace the sleeves as well as the coolant hoses.
