AiResearch and Schwitzer Turbochargers Shown In The Chart
Description of Change: Turbocharger bearings are now available in a larger number of different sizes to permit better selection for turbocharger reconditioning. Formerly, only two optional size bearings were available in addition to standard size bearings: One with .005" (0.13 mm) undersize I.D. (Inside Diameter) and .005" (0.13 mm) oversize O.D. (Outside Diameter), and the other with .010" (0.25 mm) undersize I.D. and .010" (0.25 mm) oversize O.D. The new bearings will permit better accuracy in the selection of bearing size to use during turbocharger repair or reconditioning. For turbocharger cartridges remanufactured at the factory, a limited number of bearing sizes will be used. See the topic "Remanufactured Cartridges".
Adaptable To: The new bearings are adaptable to AiResearch and Schwitzer turbocharger models as shown in the charts.
REMANUFACTURED CARTRIDGES: Turbocharger cartridges which are remanufactured at the factory, will not use all of the new bearing sizes. The bearings used in these cartridges will be limited to the sizes shown in the chart. Identification of the remanufactured cartridges will still be made by the use of a red identification plate. This plate has stamp marks to show the size of bearings used, as shown in the chart under "Identification Code". The code number for Schwitzer turbocharger cartridges is shown on the plate at the end of the serial number, after the letter "R" (for Remanufactured). For example, the serial number C076C202R8 shows a remanufactured cartridge, code 8. As shown in the chart, this is an indication that the cartridge is remanufactured with bearings that have a standard inside diameter and a .020" (0.51 mm) oversize outside diameter.
