Stronger Output Shaft Now Used In 2N3909 Tachometer Drive Adapter
Usage:
3145, 3150, 3160 and 3208 Industrial Engines;
1140, 1145, 1150, 1160 and 3208 Truck Engines
Description of Change: A stronger output shaft is now used in the 2N3909 Tachometer Drive Adapter for the above models. The method of heat treatment was changed to make both the output shaft and the tang on the shaft have a longer service life.
At the same time the new shaft was put into effect, the Caterpillar part number, drive ratio, and the supplier's part and date code were put on the outside of the housing.
Adaptable As: Direct replacement. Part number did not change.
