New Dual Service Program Module (SPM) Available

Usage:

3176 (2YG, 7LG);
3406B (8TC, 5YG, 2EK) (PEEC) Truck Engines

The new NEXG4522 Truck Engine Dual Service Program Module (SPM), released in May 1991, consists of two SPM's labeled "TRUCK MASTER" and "TRUCK SLAVE". The new SPM is for use with the Electronic Control Analyzer Programmer (ECAP), and provides all of the service functions for Electronic Control Modules (ECM's) in 3176 and 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines. The new SPM replaces both of the former NEXG4507 and NEXG4506 Truck Functions SPM for 3176 and 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines respectively. The subscriptions and mail lists for NEXG4506 and NEXG4507 have been combined so that you receive the correct number of NEXG4522 SPM's.

As is the case with SPM's used in other applications, the " TRUCK MASTER" SPM may be installed in any available empty location. However, the "TRUCK SLAVE" SPM must be installed in location U47, next to the Executive. Since NEXG4506 and NEXG4507 are no longer needed, they should be removed. Once the NEXG4522 Dual SPM is correctly installed in the ECAP, select the "Truck Engine Functions" Service Program listed in the Main Menu. The ECAP will then automatically determine which type of engine it is servicing (3176 or 3406B PEEC), and display the appropriate menu for that particular engine. If the "TRUCK SLAVE" SPM is not installed, an error message will be displayed saying that it cannot be found. If the "TRUCK SLAVE" SPM is installed in the wrong location, an error message will be displayed saying to install it in location U47. The new NEXG4522 Dual SPM is compatible with all prior versions of 3176 and 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines.
