Incorrect adjustment of the 7T5596 Throttle Position Sensor can result in failure of the sensor and loss of the throttle pedal function. The failure can occur if the pedal linkage is incorrectly adjusted such that the rotating disk on the sensor contacts the roll pin stop on the sensor. This may cause the sensor shaft to break. The sensor roll pin stop MUST NOT be used as the pedal stop.

When correctly adjusted, mechanical stops either on the pedal or on the pedal linkage will prevent the sensor rotating disk from contacting the sensor roll pin stop. Adjustment procedures for the throttle position sensor can be found in the 3406B PEEC Troubleshooting Guide, Form SENR3479-03.
