3406B PEEC Truck Engines

The 8C5919 3406B PEEC Service Program Module (SPM) is software in an Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM) chip that can be installed in the 8T8697 Electronic Control Analyzer Programmer (ECAP) by the customer to provide all of the service functions for 3406B PEEC Truck Engines. The 8C5919 3406B PEEC Service Program Module has been updated from Version 1.1 to Version 1.2. The version number is stamped on the module. The new version provides for programming of a new Customer Specified Parameter, "Low Idle Engine RPM." Other benefits of the new version of the 8C5919 3406BPEEC Service Program Module include:

... Changes made to Status Display screens are automatically saved and recalled to and from ECAP memory.
... Customer and factory specified password character are displayed as they are entered.
... Parameter names of those parameters which need reprogramming have been added to the Current Diagnostic message display screen for message 56- "Check Customer Specified Parameters" fault.
... Engine serial number can be reprogrammed in the field whenever 3406B PEEC Electronic Control Modules are replaced.
... The order of menu items in the Read/Change Customer Specified Parameters Menu has been changed to match the order of Cruise Control and PTO parameter values found in lists and documents provided with this service program module and other Caterpillar documents.
