New O-ring Seal Used In Egr (exhaust Gas Recirculation) Control Has Better Resistance To Heat Damage

Usage:

3208 Truck Engines (40S32Y)

Description of Change: A new O-ring seal is used on the solenoids and oil line fittings in the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) control group on 3208 Truck Engines so equipped. The new seal is made of a different material (fluorocarbon rubber instead of Buna-N rubber) which has better resistance to damage from high temperatures, especially on the two solenoid line connections. Formerly, some conditions caused temperatures high enough to make the seals hard and permit the development of cracks.

Adaptable As: The new 5P7814 O-Ring Seal is a direct replacement for the former 1J9671 O-Ring Seal in this application. The new seals are used on 3208 Truck Engines 32Y68441-up, and are adaptable to all earlier engines equipped with EGR systems. Identification of the new seal can be made by the brown color, in comparison with the black color of the former seal.
