New Turbocharger, Turbocharger Oil Lines Group And Aftercooler Air Lines Group Used

Usage:

Direct Injection, Turbocharged And Aftercooled 3408 Truck Engines (28V)

Description of Change:

A new turbocharger, turbocharger oil lines group and aftercooler air lines group are used on the direct injection, turbocharged and aftercooled 3408 Truck Engines (28V).

The new turbocharger has a larger diameter compressor, turbine, and housing.

The new turbocharger operates at a lower rpm, but moves the same volume of air as the former turbocharger. It was possible for the compressor blades in the former turbocharger to be damaged by the centrifugal (movement away from center or axis) force during operation at the higher rpm.

The new turbocharger oil lines group and aftercooler air lines group are necessary for installation of the new turbocharger.

Adaptable As:

The new parts, used together, are direct replacements for the former parts as shown in the chart.
