Description of Change: A new modulating relief valve spool assembly and a new slug are used in the selector and pressure control valves. The lengths of the slug and its mating spool assembly bore have been increased. The increase in length will reduce the amount of oil leakage from the slug cavity. This will result in more consistent P1 pressures and prevent higher than desirable P1 pressure.

Adaptable To: The new 9W5567 Spool Assembly and 9W5568 Slug when used together directly replace the former 7G4291 Spool Assembly and 2M7041 Slug. New and former parts must not be mixed.

NOTE: Use of new longer slug in former spool assembly could result in large reduction in clutch pressure and clutch failure.

The new and former parts have the same diameters. To prevent mixing parts during repair, measure the length of the slug and notice the number of balance grooves on the OD. The new slug is 25.4 mm (1.00") long and has five grooves on the OD. The former slug is 21.34 mm (.840") long and has four grooves. The new spool assembly has five grooves on the OD of the widest land. The former has three grooves on this land.
