Description of Change: New ring gear retainers are used in the final drives of the above current models. The new retainers are longer and have a hardened surface to provide better ring gear retention and longer service life. See illustration.
Adaptable To: The new 8W7207 Retainer is a direct replacement for the former 9M4436 Retainer on all 768 Tractors and 769 Trucks listed above. The new 5T7676 Retainer is a direct replacement for the former 4D3173 Retainer on all other models listed above. Four retainers are required per final drive.
