Usage:
All Engines
Caterpillar now makes the recommendation that Caterpillar Cooling System Inhibitor be used either with or without an ethylene glycol based antifreeze in the coolant. It is important that this inhibitor be used all through the year to prevent corrosion, cavitation and erosion in the cooling system. Since this is a change from former recommendations, the instructions on the inhibitor container are wrong. Corrections are being made to the container instructions, but the new containers will not be available for some time. The new container will have the information that follows:
Caterpillar Cooling System Inhibitor
... Prevents rust and scale deposits.
... Permits a reduction in cavitation, erosion and corrosion.
... Keeps the cooling system clean.
... Gives protection to most metals.
NOTICE |
---|
Do not use in engines with aluminum cylinder head and block.
|
... Does not damage gaskets or hoses.
... Can be used with glycol base antifreeze.
NOTICE |
---|
Do not use with Dowtherm 209.
|
... Has no negative effects on oil.
Instructions For Use
