Requirements For Shipping Wet Batteries In The U.S.{1401,7500}

Usage:

There are times when the Service Engineering Department at Peoria, II requests U.S. and Canadian dealers to return batteries with the acid in them to the Peoria Claims Room. This makes it possible to make a more realistic test of the battery.

In the U.S., wet batteries can be shipped by freight if the following conditions are met:

... The carton must show at least one "Corrosive Material" sticker.

... The bill of lading should read: "Battery, Wet, Filled with Acid, Corrosive Material, UN2794".

... If the words "Hazardous Material" appear on the bill of lading, put an "X" in the box by these words.

If you have any questions, consult with your local freight carrier.
