Use Care During Removal Of The Oil Line Screen For Brake And Torque Converter Oil Cooler{1307,1366,0374}

Usage:

768C, 772B, 776 Tractors;
769C, 773B, 777 Trucks

Reference: Service Magazine, September 27, 1982, Page 5. The article "Screen Added To Oil Lines At Inlet Of Brake And Torque Converter Oil Cooler" tells about the addition of a 4T2694 Screen to the oil cooler lines group on the above machines. This screen is installed in the inlet line to the brake and torque converter oil cooler.

Reports show that in some applications the 4T2694 Screen has been damaged when it was removed to be cleaned. To prevent this, use the procedure which follows.

1. Disconnect the hose assembly from the 5T3129 Elbow.

2. Remove the 5T3129 Elbow from the 6G2322 Elbow. The 5T3129 Elbow must be pulled straight away from the 6G2322 Elbow. Make sure the 4T2694 Screen is held in place in the 6G2322 Elbow.

3. Remove the screen from the 6G2322 Elbow.

4. Clean the screen.

5. Install the screen, point end first, into the 6G2322 Elbow.

6. Fasten the 5T3129 Elbow to the 6G2322 Elbow.

7. Connect the hose assembly.

NOTE: On 776 Tractors and 777 Trucks there are two oil coolers and the procedure will have to be used twice.
