--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Reference: See the article "New Crankshaft Seal Groups Used" in this issue.

The new 6V6142 (front) and 6V6143 (rear) Installers can be used to install the new 2W1733 and 2W1734 Crankshaft Seal Groups. Because different seal groups are now used for the front and rear of the crankshaft, both tools will be needed. The new installers will make it possible to install both the seal and wear sleeve to the correct location at the same time. This is important because the seals and wear sleeves must not be separated from each other at any time.

These new seal groups are installed similar to the earlier crankshaft seal and wear sleeve groups as shown in Special Instruction, Form SMHS7100. Special Instruction, Form SMHS8008, which is sent with each new seal group, has the special handling and installation information for these new seal groups.
