SERVICE MAGAZINE, NOVEMBER 17, 1980, PAGE 4. In the article, "New Exhaust Manifold Group And Air Lines Group Used To Prevent Exhaust Leakage," there is a wrong part number.
In the last line of the chart, "Exhaust Manifold Group," change "5M2894" to "2S3770".
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: A new exhaust manifold group and air lines group are used on 768C Tractors and 769C Trucks.
The new groups use manifolds and stainless steel tubes with slip joints instead of flanges and gaskets used in the former groups. The flange and gasket junction did not permit expansion of the parts. This some times caused exhaust manifold studs to break.
These changes in manifold design will prevent broken studs and exhaust leakage at the manifold-to-air lines junction at the rear of the engine.
Adaptable As: The new parts, used together, are a direct replacement for the former parts as shown in the charts. The Illustrations show the location of the new parts.
