Turbine Wheel Shroud Design Changed; Snap Ring No Longer Used{1052}

Usage:

All Caterpillar Engines Equipped With Schwitzer Model F Turbochargers

Description of Change: The design of the turbine wheel shroud has been changed for the Schwitzer Model F Turbochargers. Also, the snap ring which held the earlier design turbine wheel shroud in place, has been removed.

New and former designs of 4N9556 Turbine Wheel Shrouds.

The new shroud permits the clamp force of the turbine housing to the center housing to hold the shroud in position. The snap ring is not necessary with the new design shroud.

Adaptable As: The new 4N9556 Turbine Wheel Shroud is a direct replacement for the earlier 4N9556 Turbine Wheel Shroud and the 4M6990 Snap Ring. The snap ring can not be used with the later shroud, but must be used with the earlier shroud.

Location of 4N9556 Turbine Wheel Shroud and 4M6990 Snap Ring.
