Usage:
A 6V2040 Ratchet Adapter is available for use with the 6V109 and 1P850 Torque Multipliers. Driven by a 1/2" (12.7 mm) torque wrench, the 6V2040 Ratchet Adapter has a torque capacity equal to the 6V109 and 1P850 Torque Multipliers.
This adapter has a ratchet design similar to that of hand-held torque multipliers.
The adapter can hold input torque in either direction when the hydraulic cylinder rod nuts are loosened or tightened. The direction of the torque is changed when the slip collar is turned.
The 6V2040 Adapter also prevents the release of torque through the torque multipliers if the torque wrench handle is released or removed to be installed in a different position for more torque.
To remove the load from the 6V2040 Ratchet Adapter after a nut has been tightened, more torque is added and held, and the slip collar is moved to its reverse position.

When the slip collar is moved to its reverse position, any torque in the cylinder rod will now be released through the torque multiplier.

Never use an impact wrench with the 6V2040 Ratchet Adapter, or the 6V109 or 1P850 Torque Multipliers. An impact torque can damage the ratchet adapter and/or torque multipliers.
The 6V2088 Driver (main gear) and the 5P4742 Repair Kit (internal springs, pawls, etc.) are available for service of the 6V2040 Ratchet Adapter.
