New Plugs And Rubber Stoppers For Machines With Sealed And Lubricated Track{4169,4170,4175,0622}

Usage:

All Track-Type Tractors And Loaders

Description of Change: The clear acrylic plastic plugs which have been used in the track on D10 Tractors are now used in all applications. The clear plastic plugs are used in sealed and lubricated track for all track-type tractors and loaders, and in the track rollers and idlers in addition to the track on D10 Tractors. Since the clear plugs have a larger diameter than the former black plastic plugs, new rubber stoppers are released for use with the clear plugs. With this change, it is important to use only the clear plastic plugs with the new stoppers. If a former black plug is installed in a new stopper, it can work out and permit a complete loss of lubricant. For this reason, the outer end of each of the new stoppers has the part number shown on it, and has a yellow color for easy, positive identification.

Adaptable As: Each of the new rubber stoppers is a direct replacement for the former stopper in its applications. Be sure to use only the new plug with a new rubber stopper.

INSTALLATION: A special tool, the 5P7419 Plug Installer, is used to install the plastic plugs in the rubber stoppers. At the time this tool was changed to use with the new clear plugs, a complete change was made in the design of the tool, but it is not necessary to order the later tool for use with the new plugs. A modification can be made to the earlier 5P7419 Plug Installer as shown in the illustration. This will permit the tool to be used for either the new or former plugs.

NOTE: The 5P2415 Nozzle Assembly in the 5P2420 Lubrication and Testing Group can still be used with the new rubber stopper. The end of the nozzle tube fits loosely in the larger hole of the new stopper, but the shoulder on the nozzle will seal the opening if the nozzle is held tightly against the stopper. To use the nozzle, push it all the way into the stopper and hold it tightly.
