The 8N4029 Fan, which is made of aluminum, can be permanently damaged if the truck is driven through deep water. The force of the water will bend the fan blades and possibly cause a complete failure at the junction where these blades are fastened to the spider assembly. Other vehicle components, such as the engine, the final drive, and the hydraulic compartments can also be damaged by water. An inspection of the fan blades is recommended if the machine has been operated in water.
