Be Sure To Use Correct Ripper Lift And Tilt Cylinders On Tractors With Increased Hydraulic Pressures{5352,5356}

Usage:

D11N ( 74Z ) Tractors With Rippers

Reference: Service Magazine; March 14, 1988; Page 3; "Pressures Increased For The Bulldozer Lift, Tilt And Ripper Circuits," on D11N Tractors With Bulldozers And Rippers.

When the pressure was increased in the ripper hydraulic circuits (see the reference article), effective with D11N Tractors 74Z440-Up, the ripper arrangement was changed to include new ripper lift and tilt cylinders. The new cylinders are smaller in diameter than the former cylinders. The smaller diameter compensates for the higher system pressure. If the hydraulic system pressure is increased on earlier tractors, the new ripper lift and tilt cylinders must be installed or damage may result to the former (larger diameter) lift and tilt cylinders. The part numbers of the new cylinders are listed in the chart.
