Usage:
NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
NOTE: Lubricate all parts with clean hydraulic oil during assembly.

During assembly of the main control valve, be sure all parts are reinstalled in their original locations. |
NOTE: The assembly of the tilt valve spool assembly and the lift valve spool assembly is the same.
1. Assemble the tilt valve spool assembly and the lift valve spool assembly as follows:
a. Install retainer (37), spring (39), spring (36), the original thickness of shims (35) and retainer (34) on valve spool (40).
b. Install the washer and locking bolt (34).
2. Install tilt valve spool assembly (32) and lift valve spool assembly (33) in their original locations in the valve body.
3. Install the O-ring seals in housings (30) and (31) Install the housings in their original locations on the control valve body.
4. Assemble and install make-up valve assembly (24) as follows:
a. Install fitting (29) in its original position in plug (28). Install O-ring seal (27) on the plug.
b. Install valve (25), spring (26) and plug (28) in the valve body.
5. Install three load check valves (23) in their original locations in the valve body. Install the O-ring seal on each plug. Install the three valves, springs and plugs in the valve body.
6. Assemble the main relief valve as follows:
a. Install the lock nut and retainer assembly (22) in cap (21). Install O-ring seal (17) on the cap.
b. Install valve (19) and spring (20), as shown. Install cap (21) in the valve body.
c. Install backup ring (16) and O-ring seal (15) in valve body (18) in the positions shown. Install O-ring seal (14) on valve body (18).
7. Install main relief valve (13) in the main control valve, as shown. Tighten the main relief valve to a torque of 110 ± 10 N·m (80 ± 7 lb ft).
NOTE: The assembly procedure for the tilt rod end relief valve and the tilt head relief valve is the same. However, the tilt rod end relief valve does not contain washers (11). The above illustration shows the tilt head end relief valve.
8. Assemble the tilt rod end and tilt head end relief valves as follows:
a. Install valve (5), plate (10), spring (6) and washers (11) in valve body (9).
b. Install locknut (12) and O-ring seal (7) on retainer assembly (8). Install the retainer assembly in valve body (9).
c. Install O-ring seals (3) and (4) on valve body (9).
9. Install tilt rod end relief valve (1) and tilt head end relief valve (2) in their original locations in the valve body. Tighten both relief valves to a torque of 65 ± 5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb ft).
