Usage:
Start By:
a. Remove the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.
NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
NOTE: Put alignment marks on all portions of the main control valve for assembly purposes.
1. Put identification marks on the two relief valves for installation purposes. Remove tilt rod end relief valve (1) and tilt head end relief valve (2) from the main control valve.
NOTE: The disassembly procedure for the tilt rod end relief valve and the tilt head relief valve is the same. However, the tilt rod end relief valve does not contain washers (11). The above illustration shows the tilt head end relief valve.
2. Disassemble the tilt rod end and tilt head end relief valves as follows:
a. Remove O-ring seals (3) and (4) from valve body (9).
b. Loosen locknut (12) and remove retainer assembly (8) from valve body (9). Remove O-ring seal (7) from the retainer assembly.
c. Remove washers (11), spring (6), plate (10) and valve (5) from valve body (9).
3. Remove main relief valve (13) from the main control valve.
4. Disassemble the main relief valve as follows:
a. Remove O-ring seals (14), (15) and backup ring (16) from valve body (18).
b. Remove cap (21) from valve body (18). Remove O-ring seal (17) from the cap. If necessary, loosen the lock nut and remove retainer assembly (22) from the cap.
c. Remove spring (20) and valve (19) from valve body (18).

5. Remove three load check valves (23). Remove the three plugs, springs and valves from the main control valve. Remove the O-ring seal from each plug.
6. Remove make-up valve assembly (24). Remove plug (28), spring (26) and valve (25). Remove O-ring seal 927) from the plug. If necessary, remove fitting (29) from the plug.
7. Remove housings (30) and (31) from the control valve body. Remove the O-ring seals from the housings.
8. Remove tilt valve spool assembly (32) and lift valve spool assembly (33) from the valve body.
NOTE: The disassembly procedure for the tilt valve spool assembly and the lift valve spool assembly is the same. DO NOT mix the parts of either spool assembly.
9. Disassemble tilt valve spool assembly (32) and lift valve spool assembly (33) as follows:
a. Slowly loosen locking bolt (34) to release the spring force against retainer (38). Remove locking bolt (34) and the washer from valve spool (40).
b. Remove retainer (38), shims (35), spring (36), spring (39) and retainer (37) from valve spool (40).
