Secondary Steering Diverter Valve - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

a. Remove the secondary steering diverter valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Secondary Steering Diverter Valve - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

1. Remove flange (2) and the cover from secondary steering diverter valve (1).

------ WARNING! ------

There is a spring force against cover (3). When the bolts that hold the cover in place are removed, the spring force will be released. To prevent possible personal injury, hold the cover in place as the mounting bolts are being removed.

--------WARNING!------

2. Remove cover (3) from the diverter valve. Remove the O-ring seals from the cover.

3. Remove valve spool assembly (4) from the valve body.

NOTE: Put identification marks on springs and valves for installation purposes.

4. Push down on springs (6) and remove sleeves (5), spring (6) and sleeves (7) from valve spool (8).

5. Remove springs (9) and the valves behind the springs from the valve body.

------ WARNING! ------

There is a spring force behind plug (10). When the plug is removed, the spring force will be released. To prevent possible personal injury, slowly remove the plug to release the spring force.

--------WARNING!------

6. Slowly remove plug (10). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug. Remove the springs, shims and valve stem from the valve body.

7. Turn the valve body around and remove plug (11). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug. Remove cover (12). Remove the two O-ring seals from the cover.

NOTICE

An orifice is inside passage (13). Do not remove the orifice unless a replacement is needed.
