Usage:
Start By:
a. Remove the steering, brake and pilot pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Steering, Brake and Pilot) - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.
NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
1. Put an identification mark on the outside of the pump for correct assembly.
NOTE: Do not mix the parts of the pump when it is disassembled. Keep the parts with their respective sections of the pump.
2. Remove eight nuts (2) and the washers from the steering, brake and pilot pump assembly. Remove flange assembly (1) from the pump assembly.
3. Remove two lip seals (3) and the retaining ring from the flange assembly.
4. Remove isolation plate (8), retainer (4), backup ring (5) and O-ring seal (6) from front body assembly (7).
5. Remove pressure plate (9) from the front body assembly.
6. Remove front drive gear (10) and front idler gear (11) from the front body assembly.
7. Remove front body assembly (7) from the pump assembly.
8. Remove pressure plate (12) from front body assembly (7). Remove the isolation plate, the backup ring, the O-ring seal and the retainer from front body assembly (7).
9. Remove coupling (13) from the rear drive gear.
10. Remove O-ring seals (14) from around the eight studs. Remove O-ring seal (16) from center plate (15).
11. Remove center plate (15) from the pump assembly.
12. Remove isolation plate (21), retainer (17), backup ring (18), O-ring seal (19) and the pressure plate from rear body assembly (20).
13. Remove rear drive gear (22) and rear idler gear (23) from the rear body assembly.
14. Remove pressure plate (24), the retainer, the backup ring, the O-ring seal and the isolation plate from rear body assembly (20).
15. Remove rear body assembly (20) from end plate assembly (25).
16. Remove O-ring seal (26) from end plate (25). Do not remove studs (27) unless a replacement of the end plate is needed.
17. Remove the two bolts that hold cover (28) to end plate (25). Remove cover (28).
18. Remove O-ring seal (29) from the end plate.
