Hydraulic Tank - Assemble

Usage:

Assembly Procedure

NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Check the condition of all O-ring seals used in the hydraulic tank. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

1. Install O-ring seal (1) on block (2).

2. Put block (2) in position in the tank assembly.

3. Install two bolts (5).

4. Install the O-ring seal on cover (4). Put cover (4) in position on the tank assembly and install four bolts (3).

5. Install O-ring seal (6) on block (7).

6. Put block (7) in position in the tank assembly.

7. Install plug (8) in block (9).

8. Install O-ring seal (10) in block (9).

9. Install block (9) in the tank assembly.

10. Install two bolts (13) that hold block (7) to the tank assembly.

11. Install two bolts (10) that hold block (9) to the tank assembly.

12. Install the O-ring seals on covers (12).

13. Put covers (12) in position on the tank assembly and install eight bolts (11).

14. Install the O-ring seal on the drain plug. Install the drain plug in the drain valve body. Tighten the drain plug to a torque of 68 ± 7 N·m (50 ± 5 lb ft).

15. Install O-ring seal (16), valve (17), spring (15) and valve guide (14) in the valve drain body.

16. Put the drain valve body in position in the bottom of the tank assembly and install the nuts and the washers that hold it.

17. Install baffle tube assembly (18) on the suction block in the tank assembly.

18. Install the O-ring seal in cover (20). Put valve (19), spring (21) and cover (20) on the filter base. Install the two bolts and the washers that hold the cover in place.

19. Install two studs (22) in the filter base. Tighten the studs to a torque of 108 ± 14 N·m (80 ± 10 lb ft).

20. Install O-ring seals (23) in the filter base.

21. Put the filter base in position on the outside of the tank assembly.

22. Put baffle assembly (24) in position on the inside of the tank assembly. Install the six bolts that hold the baffle assembly to the tank assembly and the filter base on the outside of the tank assembly.

23. Install the O-ring seals, plate (28), glass (27) and grommet (25) in retainer (26).

24. Put sight gauge (29) in position in the cover assembly. Install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 ± 7 N·m (22 ± 5 lb ft).

25. Remove the used sealant from the sealing surface of the hydraulic tank. Thoroughly clean the sealing surface before installing the new sealant.

26. Put 5P-9119 RTV Silicone Sealant around the edges of the tank assembly. Overlap the ends of the sealant to ensure a correct seal between cover assembly (30) and the tank assembly.

27. Install Tooling (A) on cover assembly (30) of the hydraulic tank, as shown. Attach a hoist and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (A). Use rods for alignment. Put cover assembly (30) in position on the tank assembly. Install the 70 bolts and locknuts that hold the cover assembly to the tank assembly.

28. Install strainer assembly (31) in position in the filler. Install the retainer ring that holds it.

29. Install O-ring seal (32) on the filler.

30. Install the ball, plate (35) and gasket (34) in filler cap (33).

31. Install the cap on the filler.

32. Put filler assembly (37) in position on the hydraulic tank. Install four nuts (36) and the washers that hold the filler assembly to the hydraulic tank.

33. Install O-ring seals (38), (39) and (40) on hydraulic tank breaker relief valve (41).

34. Install hydraulic tank breaker relief valve (41) on the hydraulic tank.

35. Install element (42) on the hydraulic tank breaker relief valve.

36. Install cover (44) and snap ring (43) on the hydraulic tank breaker relief valve.

End By:

a. Install the hydraulic tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Tank - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
