Valves

Usage:

Remove Valves

Start By:

a. remove cylinder head

1. Put spring (2) under compression with tool (A). Remove locks (1). Remove tool (A), rotocoil assembly (3), and spring (2).

NOTE: If the valves are to be used again, put identification on each valve to mark the correct location for proper installation.

2. Remove shield (4) and valve (5).

3. Use tooling (B) to check the condition of the springs. Make reference to "Specifications" to find the correct spring specifications.

4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remainder of the valves.

Install Valves

1. Put shields (1) in position on rotocoil assembly (2). Make sure the shoulder of the shield is against the end of the rotocoil assembly.

2. Put clean oil on the valve stem. Put valve (3) and spring (4) in position in the head. Install rotocoil assembly (2) on the valve stem.

------ WARNING! ------

Locks can be thrown from the valve when the spring compressor is released if the locks are not in their correct position. To prevent personal injury, make sure the locks are in the correct position before the spring compressor is removed.

3. Put springs (4) under compression with tool (A). Install locks (5) with the thick end up.

4. Remove tool (A) and hit the valve with a soft hammer to be sure the locks and valves are in their correct positions.
