Usage:
start by:
a) remove starter
b) remove flywheel
c) remove oil pan
1. Install tooling (A) and fasten a hoist as shown to the flywheel housing.
2. Remove bolts (1) that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block.
3. Remove flywheel housing (2). The weight is 60 lb. (27 kg).
Install Flywheel Housing
1. Clean the old gasket from the surfaces of the cylinder block and flywheel housing that make contact with each other. Install a new gasket. Cut the gasket even with the bottom of the cylinder block. Put 5H2471 Gasket Cement on the bottom of the gasket where the gasket makes contact with the oil pan gasket.
NOTE: Do not cause damage to the rear crankshaft seal when the flywheel housing is installed.
2. Put oil on the lip of the rear crankshaft seal.
3. Install tooling (A) and fasten a hoist. Put flywheel housing (1) in position and install the bolts that hold it in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 37 ± 4 lb.ft. (48 ± 5 N·m).
