Camshaft Bearings

Usage:

Remove Camshaft Bearings

start by:

a) remove pistons

b) remove flywheel housing

c) remove camshaft

1. Remove the camshaft bearings, using tool group (A).

Install Camshaft Bearings

1. Install the camshaft bearings in the cylinder block, using tool group (A).

2. The front bearing has two oil holes. Install the bearing in the cylinder block with one of the oil holes in bearing in alignment with the oil hole in block, and with the bearing joint positioned at angle (X) 8° ± 5°. Pull the bearing into the block until front edge of bearing is .060 ± .020 in. (1,5 ± 0,5 mm) below the front surface of the cylinder block.

3. Install the other bearings with the oil hole in alignment with the oil hole in the cylinder block. Pull the rear bearing into the cylinder block until the rear edge of the bearing is .06 ± .020 in. (1,5 ± 0,5 mm) below rear surface of the block.

a) install camshaft

b) install pistons

c) install flywheel housing
