Valves

Usage:

Remove Valves

start by:

a) remove exhaust manifold

b) remove aftercooler

c) remove water temperature regulator

d) remove spark plug adapters

e) remove cylinder head assembly

1. Use the valve spring compressor assembly (A) to put compression on the valve spring until the locks (1) can be removed.

2. Remove the compressor (A), rotocoil assembly, spring and valve.

3. Check valve spring force, using spring tester (B). See TESTING AND ADJUSTING for spring force specifications.

4. Do steps 1 to 3 again for the remainder of the valves.

Install Valves

1. Put clean oil on the valve stem. Install seal on the valve guide, intake valves only. Install the valve, spring, rotocoil assembly in the cylinder head.

2. Use the valve spring compressor assembly (A) to put compression on the valve spring until the locks can be installed.

------ WARNING! ------

If the locks are not correctly seated on the valve stem, they may be released with enough force to cause injury, when the valve spring compressor is removed.

--------WARNING!------

3. Remove the valve spring compressor and hit the valve (1) with a soft hammer to seat the locks.

4. Do steps 1 to 3 again for the remainder of the valves.

a) install cylinder head assembly

b) install spark plug adapters

c) install water temperature regulator

d) install aftercooler

e) install exhaust manifold
