Oil Pan Base

Usage:

Remove Oil Pan Base

1. Drain engine coolant.

2. Drain the oil pan base-capacity 68 U.S. Gal. (255 liter).

------ WARNING! ------

Always use the FT118 Lifting Beam and the FT1074 Engine Lifting Adapters when lifting this engine. Position the eye in the FT118 Lifting Beam to obtain a vertical (straight up) lift on the engine (as illustrated). If these instructions are not followed, damage to the engine and/or personal injury may result.

--------WARNING!------

3. Remove water pump inlet line hold down clamp (1).

4. Remove oil pan base-to-cylinder block mounting bolts (2).

5. Disconnect prelube pump oil inlet line from oil pan base.

6. Attach a hoist and raise engine-weight 9,000 lbs. (4,082 kg).

7. Remove the oil pan base from under the engine-weight 1,100 lbs. (454 kg).

Install Oil Pan Base

1. Position the oil pan base under engine.

2. Install a new oil pan base-to-cylinder block gasket.

3. Lower the engine to the oil pan base.

4. Install oil pan base mounting bolts. Install water pump inlet line clamp.

5. Connect prelube pump oil inlet line to oil pan base.

6. Fill the crankcase to specified capacity.

7. Install engine coolant.
